Looking for something in particular?  A photograph of your favorite fish, perhaps or a listing of all the damselfish photographs on the site?  With this convenient new search form, you can enter keywords, such as common names or scientific names, and see a list of all matching images.  See below for instructions on performing more complex searches. 

Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

magnificent anemone

finds pages containing 'magnificent' or 'anemone'

magnificent or anemone

same as above

magnificent and anemone

finds pages containing both 'magnificent' and 'anemone'

magnificent not anemone

finds pages containing 'magnificent' but not 'anemone'

(magnificent not anemone) and clownfish

finds pages containing 'clownfish', plus 'magnificent' but not 'anemone'

clown*

finds pages containing words starting with 'clown'
